Workplace inspections are underway across various employment sectors in Addo, Eastern Cape. Led by the Inspection and Enforcement Services Branch, these comprehensive inspections aim to ensure strict compliance with a wide range of labour legislation.
The primary focus is to verify that employers are adhering to legal requirements regarding the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Unemployment Insurance Fund Act, National Minimum Wage Act and Compensation of Injuries and Diseases Act . By conducting these inspections, the department seeks to promote safer workplaces and also enforce corrective measures where necessary.

Johannesburg Addresses Service Delivery Challenges

The City of Johannesburg's Finance MMC has tabled an R89 billion budget to address the city’s service delivery challenges. Margaret Arnolds delivered her first budget speech at the Connie Bapela Council chambers in Braamfontein earlier this week. Arnolds says R4.6 billion has been allocated to City Power over the next three years in order to stabilize the grid and strengthen the network to improve efficiency. Johannesburg Water will receive the second-largest capital allocation of R5.6 billion over three years, to address service backlogs and infrastructure hotspots.
