Two Decades of Hope: STEPS Transforms Lives of Children with Clubfoot
Story 1
This Tuesday, 3 June, STEPS Clubfoot Care marks 20 years of life-changing impact in South Africa as the world observes Clubfoot Day.
Founded by Karen Moss after her son was diagnosed with clubfoot, the organisation has helped over 12,000 children walk pain-free using the Ponseti Method.
Clubfoot is a condition where a baby’s feet are twisted downward and inward, but with early treatment, it’s fully correctable.
From just a few clinics, STEPS now supports 48 nationwide and has trained more than 2,000 healthcare workers.
Thanks to early intervention, children like baby Tanashe from Mfuleni and Musa from the Eastern Cape are now thriving.
With a new book First Steps, STEPS continues to guide and uplift families across the country—turning fear into hope, one step at a time.

Google Enhances Android Auto with Spotify Jam and Smarter In-Car Features
Story 2
Google has announced a suite of updates for Android Auto during its annual I/O developer conference, headlined by an enhanced Spotify experience that includes support for the music streaming service’s collaborative Jam feature.
Jam allows drivers and passengers to build playlists together by scanning a QR code—no Bluetooth needed. A new Jam button will appear in the Now Playing interface, offering controls to manage sessions and view participants.
The redesigned Spotify app is built using Google’s Car App Library, giving developers more flexibility to create richer in-car experiences.
Google also confirmed updates for YouTube Music and Amazon Music, while vehicles with Google built-in will soon benefit from Quick Share, improved Maps, light mode, and better video and gaming support.
To prioritise safety, all video features will only be available when the car is parked.

Cradle of Hope’s Harvest Initiative Grows Change in Krugersdorp
The Cradle of Hope’s Harvest Initiative is planting the seeds of change in Krugersdorp—supporting local farmers and promoting sustainable food practices.
The project recently delivered its first harvest of fresh spinach to residents at the Jack Cotton Old Age Home, many of whom depend on monthly food parcels from the organisation.
Founder Melodie van Brakel says the initiative will soon expand to include educational programmes, empowering community members—young and old—to grow their own food.
By turning once-unused land into thriving gardens, the project is helping improve local food security and restore the environment.
Residents like Petrus de Villers have welcomed the support, expressing heartfelt thanks for the fresh produce and renewed sense of hope
