R120 billion Gautrain expansion to create 125,000 jobs

The Gauteng government is moving ahead with a R120 billion expansion of the Gautrain, connecting new areas including Soweto via Fourways, Mamelodi, Atteridgeville, Lanseria, and Springs.
New routes will run mostly underground, linking Little Falls to Jabulani, Cosmo City to Lanseria Airport, and Cosmo City to Samrand through Fourways and Olivenhoutbosch.
The expansion is expected to generate more than 125,000 construction jobs over five years while improving public transport access across the province.
