Since 2022, the foundation has provided school shoes for children, blankets and food hampers for older people, and clothing for mothers and babies across Soweto.
The foundation continues to assist communities during winter, when many families face greater need.
The recognition highlights Radebe's ongoing efforts to improve lives through practical community support.

New minibus boosts cancer patient support

The CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa in the Western Cape has strengthened its support for young cancer patients with the donation of a new 14-seater minibus from the South African Muslim Charitable Trust.
The vehicle will provide safe and reliable transport for children travelling to and from hospital for treatment.
CHOC says transport costs and long travel distances have prevented some families from attending appointments.
The new minibus will help more children stay on track with their treatment while easing the burden on their families.

UFS Opens Advanced Research Laboratory

The University of the Free State has opened a new research laboratory and installed a first-of-its-kind microscope in Africa to help scientists study animals, plants and diseases.
The new facilities support research into agriculture, biodiversity, veterinary science and disease while providing diagnostic services for farmers and industry partners.
Since opening last year, the laboratory has processed nearly 3,000 soil and root samples.
The R7.4 million investment will also support postgraduate research and enable scientists to study genetics and DNA with greater precision.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe has hailed Africa's strong performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after nine African teams qualified for the knockout stage.
Algeria, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal and South Africa all advanced to the round of 32.
Motsepe says continued investment in youth development, coaching and football infrastructure is helping African teams compete successfully on the global stage:
