More than 800 young children in underserved South African communities will benefit from an expanded Bond Through Play Initiative, thanks to support from the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
The programme, led by Sesame Workshop International South Africa, uses soccer and structured play to help children aged three to eight develop life skills, build confidence and prepare for school.
The initiative also encourages parents and caregivers to take a more active role in their children's learning, while the next phase will place an even greater focus on inclusion.
The programme builds on an award winning campaign that has already reached millions of South Africans through playful learning.
