Johannesburg has hosted South Africa's first accredited Blind Football Workshop, bringing together participants from across the country to develop the sport and make it more accessible.
The programme, held in La Rochelle, is equipping aspiring coaches, managers and administrators with the skills to establish and run blind football teams in their communities.
The workshop also introduced the International Blind Sports Federation's 110 page Blind Football Coaching Manual in Braille, helping make training resources more accessible for visually impaired participants.
Practical on field training will conclude the programme on Friday, supporting the growth of blind football across South Africa.

Community blood drive exceeds donation target in Boksburg

A 14 year old boy in Montana in the USA is being praised after using his lasso skills to rescue a man who was swept away by the Yellowstone River.
Jory Thomas heard cries for help after four people fell into the water when their raft and paddle board struck a bridge pier. Three reached safety, but one man was carried downstream by the strong current.
The teenager waded into the river and used his lasso to catch the man on his first attempt, pulling him to safety with the help of a bystander before emergency crews arrived.
Local authorities have praised Jory's quick thinking, saying his actions likely saved the man's life.
