Youth in Construction Summit sparks innovation and entrepreneurship among young builders

Aspiring young builders and innovators recently gathered at the Brixton Multipurpose Centre in Johannesburg, for the Youth in Construction Summit.
The platform which aims to shape the future of the construction industry, brought together students, graduates, industry leaders and government representatives to explore how to better align education with industry needs and to promote youth entrepreneurship in the construction sector.
The Member of the Mayoral Committee for Human Settlements in the City of Johannesburg, Councilor Mlungisi Mabaso called on government, educational institutions and the private sector to invest in youth development through skills training, mentorship, internships and procurement opportunities.

The Western Cape Department of Health, in partnership with the Smile Foundation, the Tygerberg Hospital, and the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospitals, is leading a series of reconstructive surgeries to support children with cleft and craniofacial conditions.
The initiative launched in line with National Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month in July, is helping young patients gain a second chance at a healthier, more confident life.

Netflix launches on-the-Job training for 30 aspiring film creatives

Netflix has officially launched the Screen Craft Pathway program in South Africa, an on-the-job training initiative aimed at nurturing emerging talent in the country's film and television industry.
The program is developed in partnership with the Gauteng Film Commission and the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film Authority, and will be administered by Tshikululu Social Investments.
30 emerging creatives, will be selected to receive hands-on training across various roles including pre‑production, production and post‑production.
Trainees for the programme will be selected from various sources including a public open application, as well as nominations from the KZN Tourism & Film Authority and the Gauteng Film Commission.
