The Feed the Nation Initiative, a project by Pick 'n Pay has distributed over 45.1 million meals since its launch in 2020.
This campaign was initially launched as an emergency relief fund in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, but has continued to provide food and essential items to vulnerable communities.
Speaking on the Social Impact Show earlier, Pick 'n Pay Non Executive Director Suzanne Ackerman said the 'Feed the Nation' initiative combines food security with dignity restoration:

The City of Cape Town is celebrating a major milestone after its Advanced Water Reclamation Plant was named Jury Winner in the Factories and Warehouses category at the 13th Annual Architizer A+Awards in New York.
The award recognizes the plant's exceptional design and functionality.
The plant is expected to yield up to 54 million liters of water per day, contributing significantly to Cape Town's water security and climate resilience.
The City's investment in this facility is a major step towards building a more drought-resilient future.

South Africa’s Pieter Coetze has won his country’s first gold medal at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore.
The 21-year-old broke his own records in Germany and followed it up with a 100m backstroke win.
He clocked a time of 51. 85 seconds, also the fastest time in the world this year.
World record holder, Thomas Ceccon, was second, five-hundredths of a second behind Coetze, while Yohann Ndoye-Brouard of France won the bronze medal.
