Parktown High School for Girls celebrated its 103rd birthday last week, with staff and former pupils gathering to reflect on the school’s long history and how far it has come.
The celebrations also had a charitable focus, with Grade 11 learners putting their entrepreneurship skills to work to raise additional funds for a charity of their choice.
Representative Council of Learners member Ngwedi Bogopa said she felt honoured to be part of the school’s legacy and celebrate its milestone birthday.She said the birthday reflected the school’s rich academic history and helped strengthen the bond of trust between learners and the school.

The Rand Airport Airshow returns Germiston today.The event will feature aerobatics, historic aircraft and high-energy aerial performances, as well as static aircraft displays throughout the event.The programme will include aerial performances by the Puma Flying Lions, Master Power Extra 330s, the classic Beech 18 and other aircraft.Flight schools will also be present to showcase their training programmes and aviation career opportunities.
