More than 50 South African women have been given practical tools to build businesses, manage their money and use AI.
They came together in Johannesburg for ALX Africa’s first Her Africa event, which included AI training, business advice and financial literacy sessions.
Women entrepreneurs and learners were shown how to use AI for everyday tasks, strengthen their businesses and make better financial decisions.
The event aims to help more women build businesses, gain financial independence and take part in the digital economy.

Caregivers at Hotel Hope Ministries in Melville are providing daily care for children who are waiting to be adopted or reunited with their families.
Staff change nappies, clean rooms, take photographs, tell stories and support children at school and in sport.
Augustine Mwakayoka also visits one of the children’s homes in the evenings, spending time with the children over stories, pizza and conversations about their day.
Hotel Hope has 16 staff members working in its children’s homes, caring for children.
Their work helps give children daily routines, support and a sense of belonging while they wait for their next step.

Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria is leading in specialised cancer care in South Africa.
Its nuclear medicine unit provides treatment for cancers including prostate and breast cancer, with patients even referred from private hospitals and overseas.
Health experts say the facility shows what can be achieved in the public health system.
They say more hospitals with similar services could improve access to cancer care across the country.
