Young South Africans aged 10 to 18 have until 11 September to enter the Pieces for Peace Art Competition, run by environmental non-profit Save a Fishie and the International Peace Youth Group.
Entrants must create a poster or sculpture about peace using only recycled materials, either individually or in teams of up to five.
The top three entries in each age group will be put to a public vote, with winners announced on 2 October.

500 Teachers Receive Maths Training

Nearly 500 South African primary school mathematics teachers are receiving extra training to improve their problem-solving skills.
The training is funded by the Government Employees Pension Fund and delivered by the South African Mathematics Foundation through an online course.
The 495 teachers are taking part in the programme, which started on 20 August and runs until 15 October.
They will learn new ways to help learners solve challenging maths problems and prepare for mathematics competitions.
