The Johannesburg Development Agency is building farming infrastructure at 5 sites to fight food insecurity, support local farmers, and create jobs.
This initiative is part of the Urban Agriculture Food Resilience Infrastructure Project, aimed at tackling poverty and addressing the lack of farming infrastructure.
The project will prioritize local labour, during construction to ensure maximum community benefit.

The Tshwane University of Technology’s Faculty of Information and Communication Technology has launched the Mpumalanga AI Student Hackathon 2025 activation.
The initiative is now in its third year and has become a key platform for ICT students to explore real-world AI applications.
This year’s hackathon will see teams of ten competing during 3-days of intensive learning, innovation and collaboration in October.
