Walaza Boost for Team SA at World Championships

South African sprint sensation Bayanda Walaza has been cleared to compete at the World Championships in Tokyo.
His agent confirmed on Tuesday that the 19 year old, who picked up a hamstring concern in Zurich last week, has passed medical tests and returned to training.
Walaza will line up in the 100 metre heats next Saturday and is a key part of the 4x100 relay team, who clocked the fastest time in the world this year.
His inclusion is a major boost for Team South Africa as they chase their first world championship medals since 2017.

TUT Dialogue Connects Students with Women Leaders in Media and Communication

The Faculty of Humanities at Tshwane University of Technology, in partnership with GCIS, hosted a Women in Media and Communication Dialogue.
Students were given access to professionals who have paved the way in the media industry. Attendees included SABC News Prime Time Anchor Bongiwe Zwane, Dr Maria Mushaathoni, Head of Journalism and Integrated Communication, Athi Geleba, Head of Digital Communication at The Presidency, and Dr Vathiswa Papu-Zamxaka, TUT’s Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Engagement.
The dialogue highlighted challenges women face in media while providing mentorship and insights on creativity, leadership, and the responsible use of AI.
Students were encouraged to embrace their talents, claim their space, and lead with purpose, reinforcing that progress is possible through knowledge and diligence.
