Altron extends free Wi-Fi for Alexandra job seekers

Altron has renewed its free Wi-Fi service at the Motswedi Skills Centre in Alexandra, Johannesburg, for another two years, supporting young people in their job searches.
The hub, operated by the SA Job Seekers Movement, offers residents access to online job platforms, application portals, and professional networks, helping to overcome barriers caused by limited internet access.
The service is open to the wider Alexandra community and also hosts workshops and mentorship sessions, giving residents a safe space to build digital skills and improve employment prospects.
Officials say the initiative is part of broader efforts to address youth unemployment and empower the community.

Western Cape Dam Levels Remain Strong

The Department of Water and Sanitation says it is encouraged by the state of dam levels in the Western Cape.
Since the start of winter, dams in the province have been rising steadily by around 3% each week.
Overall, dam levels now stand at just over 84%, with major dams such as Voëlvlei, Steenbras Upper and Berg River almost full.
Officials say the healthy water levels are a positive sign for the province as it heads into the warmer months, but are reminding residents, farmers and industries to continue using water wisely.
