Two Rhino Calves Rescued in Kruger
Story 2
Two young rhino calves were recently rescued in Kruger National Park after being spotted alone in the bush.
The calves, about 12 to 14 months old, had joined together for protection while rangers and the Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary coordinated a carefully planned rescue.
One calf was airlifted from rugged terrain to the nearest road and transported to the sanctuary for immediate care, while the second calf was flown directly to the facility.
Veterinarians and wildlife teams provided fluids, monitoring and high-care support to ensure both calves thrived.

KnitWits 4 the Needy Keep Blanket-Making Tradition Alive
Story 3
Volunteers from KnitWits 4 the Needy gathered at Rosebank Union Church in Hurlingham, Johannesburg, to knit and crochet blankets for people in need.
The weekly sessions are part of the wider 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day initiative, which has chapters across South Africa and internationally, creating handmade blankets for distribution in winter.
Blankets produced by the group are given to charities and contribute to large-scale projects, some of which have earned Guinness World Records at historic sites associated with Nelson Mandela.
The initiative is also preparing for the United Nations Day of Creativity and Innovation in April, when volunteers will display their blankets at Steyn City.
