Somerset College clothing drive supports families and reduces waste
Story 2
The Somerset College community in the Cape Winelands has collected hundreds of bags of pre loved clothing as part of a drive aimed at supporting families in need and reducing textile waste.
The donated items were passed on to Clothes to Good, an organisation that recycles and upcycles clothing while creating job opportunities and supporting families of children with disabilities.
The school says the collection reflects strong community spirit, with the clothing forming part of a large display before being distributed for reuse and recycling.
The initiative is also helping keep usable textiles out of landfill while supporting income generation in vulnerable communities.
