SA school choirs head to national SASCE finals in Pretoria

Finalists from all nine provinces will gather in Pretoria at the end of June for the ABC Motsepe SASCE National Championships, one of the country’s biggest school arts events.

Audience member steps in to save live La La Land performance in Sydney

A live orchestral screening of La La Land in Sydney took an unexpected turn when a professional pianist fell ill just before the performance.
After delays, Oscar winning composer and conductor Justin Hurwitz asked if anyone in the audience could step in. Sterling Nasa volunteered and was guided on stage.
With no rehearsal, he played the demanding piano score live alongside the orchestra and film projection.
The performance continued smoothly, with the audience applauding the unexpected turn of events and the show ending on a strong note.
