Pinnacle College Linden has been crowned winner of the Independent Institute of Education Vega Interschool Brand Experience. VIBE is Vega’s national inter-school brand challenge, where high schools take on a real-world brief, by a well-known brand.The school hosts the annual competition in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, and Pretoria, with regional winners competing for the national title. This year, 14 teams from eight Johannesburg high schools tackled a brief from Plato Coffee.The challenge was to help Plato Coffee connect with younger customers through an innovative campaign, all while keeping its older clientele engaged.

The Iconic Mandela Bay Theatre Complex formerly known as the Port Elizabeth Opera House, has reopened following upgrades to the facility including acoustics, lighting, and sound systems. The reopening marks a new chapter for the theatre complex, celebrating its resilience and cultural significance. Hosted by the Mandela Bay Legacy Jazz Festival, the Theatre Complexa is a celebration of South African jazz and the region's rich musical heritage.

In China, a new trend has emerged where people are making use of pretend work spaces. This phenomenon is growing in major cities as more young people face pressure to appear employed. Ads for these services are going viral on Chinese social media with office spaces designed to look and feel like real workplaces. Desks, Wi-Fi, coffee, and even fake bosses and tasks are set up to recreate the work experience. China’s overall urban unemployment rate is 5.3%, but among 16- to 24-year-olds, it’s much higher—16.5%. As competition grows, some see these fake offices as a way to cope with stress.
