eThekwini Enviro Week is currently underway and runs from June 1 to 8. The project is all about connecting Durban communities with nature. The week is led by Green Corridors and EEPAN, with support from local environmental and education groups.With over 40 events planned across the city, the public is invited to join in and celebrate Durban’s rich natural environment. Activities include beach clean-ups, tree planting, workshops and interactive learning. Highlights include storytelling with author Dr Gcina Mhlophe and guided nature walks with nature expert Andre Steenkamp.

Edenvale’s renewal is underway with the launch of Better Edenvale. This is a community-led NPO focused on uplifting public spaces and improving the town. It’s supported by local residents, businesses, and property owners. The goal is to clean up and maintain the Edenvale CBD. Better Edenvale joins the Better Neighbourhoods network, which includes areas like Bedfordview and Fourways. The group’s new logo and mission were revealed on May 23 at Mugg & Bean, The Verge Shopping Centre.All Edenvale businesses and property owners are urged to support the initiative. Their help will speed up efforts to restore and maintain the area.
