Rand Water’s ongoing maintenance activities will affect the City of Johannesburg from today.
The water utility confirmed on Tuesday morning that phase 2 of their maintenance programme that began on Thursday last week is underway, following the successful completion of the first phase on Monday.

Johannesburg Water spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala says the 10 hour maintenance at the Palmiet system will be conducted from 6 am until 4 pm.

The City of Johannesburg's Sandton, Alexandra Park, South Hills, Linksfield, and Midrand pumping systems, will also be impacted by the maintenance.

A fleet of 97 water tankers has been dispatched throughout the period to minimize disruptions.

The Department of Higher Education and Training says, it is in a process of transforming the education system in colleges, by implementing new technology and revamping old infrastructure.

Minister Nobuhle Nkabane visited the Mankwe campus of the Orbit Tvet College, in Mogwase outside Rustenburg in the Northwest.

The campus received a donation of new technology worth R13 million.
