A backyard internet café founded by Prince Tamane has grown into a thriving skills development centre. This hub helps people gain practical training, access information and improve their employment prospects. Motivated by his own struggles of poverty, crime and hunger, Tamane launched the initiative to create opportunities for others. With support from The Angel Network, including a donation of computers, the project has expanded into the Eyethu Skills Development Centre.The centre now provides training in Occupational Health and Safety, AI in farming, photography, beauty therapy and other practical skills, equipping young people and adults with the knowledge and confidence to pursue better opportunities.

Two brothers from Pretoria have turned a comedy skit filmed for fun into a viral Afrikaans social media success. Dylan and Armand Pretorius launched their comedy channel, *Hou My Dop*, and gained unexpected attention after posting a reel about the first day of school earlier this year.The page had only 200 followers when they uploaded the video. By the next morning, their audience had grown to more than 2,000 followers, and the reel eventually attracted about 450,000 Instagram views.The brothers realised there was strong demand for their style of comedy and have continued creating content that entertains Afrikaans audiences.

Registration has opened for the 2026 Hollard Daredevil Run, with participants once again being encouraged to don their signature purple Speedos and help raise awareness of men's cancer. Now in its 17th year, the popular charity event will take place on 23 October, bringing together thousands of South Africans in support of a vital cause. The 2026 campaign was officially launched at the Hollard Campus in Parktown. 1.2 million rand was raised through last year’s event which was presented to the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The funds will support prostate cancer awareness campaigns and help improve early detection for men across the country.
