Scout Builds New Cat Recovery Enclosure for Animal Shelter

A Johannesburg Scout has turned more than 50 hours of community service into a lasting gift for 4Paws Animal Shelter.
Christopher Isaacs built a new isolation enclosure where rescued cats can recover from illness before joining the shelter's healthy cats.
The enclosure will help prevent the spread of disease and improve the care of vulnerable animals.
The project formed part of his Scouts Springbok Community Service Project and took 56 hours to complete, with the shelter saying it will make a lasting difference for the cats in its care.

Cape Town will host the 2026 One Young World Summit from the 3rd to the 6th of November, bringing together more than 2 000 young leaders from over 190 countries.
The summit brings together young entrepreneurs, activists, scientists, policymakers and community leaders to share ideas, develop solutions to global challenges and build partnerships that create positive social change.
The Presidency has recognised the event as part of South Africa's 50 year commemoration of the Soweto Uprising and its focus on empowering young people.
More than R10 million has already been committed to bursaries to help hundreds of young South Africans attend the summit.
