Rosebank sees launch of new sustainable urban precinct

A new green urban precinct positioned on the edge of Rosebank and The Parks, has begun opening in phases from early December, with full tenant activation expected by March this year.
The Nine Yards centres on a 450-metre promenade designed by Patrick Watson paired with architecture by Matthew Miller that thoughtfully merges heritage structures with modern design.
The development will eventually host over 30 tenants and has been designed to encourage slower movement through the city, with landscaped pathways, shaded seating areas, outdoor dining spaces and pockets of urban gardens.

Health Departments records first births of 2026

The New Year brought joy and new beginnings across South Africa, as health departments in four provinces welcomed the first babies of 2026.
Gauteng recorded more than 196 births on the first day of the year, including two sets of twins.
KwaZulu-Natal welcomed over 144 babies, the Eastern Cape celebrated around 102 births, while the Western Cape recorded 28 newborns in public health facilities.
