South African Hall of Fame honours soccer legends

Seven of the country's soccer legends were honoured at the South African Hall of Fame’s second Soccer Legends Induction, which was recently hosted at Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp.
The prestigious event paid tribute to some of South Africa’s greatest football heroes.
Some of the legends that were honoured on the night included Aaron Mokoena, Janine van Wyk, Mark Fish, Mark Williams and Doctor Khumalo.
The Chairman of the South African Hall of Fame, Johnny Burger, says the stories of the icons are more than just sporting triumphs, but symbols of perseverance, unity and national pride.

SA Harvest raises R1.4 million for eastern Cape food relief

Non-profit organisation SA Harvest has raised around R1.4 million through its 2025 Buckets of Nutrition campaign to support food relief efforts for disadvantaged families in Nelson Mandela Bay and surrounding Eastern Cape communities.
SA Harvest’s Lwazi Nongauza says the initiative focuses on addressing increased hunger during the December school holidays.
The organisation has reached around 1 400 families,
through its community partners, with further food distributions planned into early 2026.

Northern Cape appoints over 400 Community Healthcare workers

The Northern Cape Department of Health has taken a significant step towards strengthening primary healthcare services with the permanent appointment of more than 400 community healthcare workers across the province.
A further 300 workers are currently undergoing verification, while over 100 are awaiting the verification of their matric certificates.
The appointments follow a Provincial Treasury allocation of more than R130 million, aimed at expanding and stabilising the community healthcare workforce.
The move is expected to enhance healthcare delivery at grassroots level while creating much-needed employment opportunities across the Northern Cape.
