The Rhulani Mabasa Children’s Foundation has launched a mobile library, Kasi to Kasi, to bring books to children in communities such as Dobsonville, Braamfischer and Meadowlands.
The library travels daily to improve literacy and vocabulary, while engaging parents and community members in reading activities.
The foundation collects donations of books, food and funds to support its operations and expand access to learning resources.

Surfboards give Durban street children a new wave of hope

Dozens of Durban’s street children are gaining new skills and opportunities thanks to donated surfboards and gear from Surf HQ Surf Shop and the local community.
Surfers Not Street Children, operating for almost 30 years, teaches children to surf while providing mentorship and life skills.
Many participants have gone on to professional and personal success, including Melokuhle Zotshana, who represented Team South Africa at the ISA World Junior Championships.
The program uses surfing to break the cycle of street living, helping children build confidence, find work, and pursue education.
