Pad Drive Supports 180 Ivory Park Matrics Ahead of Exams
Story 1
Kyma Yoga Flow, a women-led wellness organisation, delivered 180 sanitary pad care bags to Ivory Park Secondary School’s matric learners, helping them attend school with confidence and dignity ahead of their final exams.
Each care bag contained two packs of sanitary pads, purchased following a yoga fundraiser organised by the group.
The initiative addressed period poverty, which continues to affect millions of South African girls, particularly during exam season.
Volunteers and local partners assisted with purchasing, sorting, and distributing the pads, ensuring the drive reached learners most in need.

South Africa’s economy expanded by 0.5 percent in the third quarter, marking a fourth consecutive rise in economic activity.
Stats SA says nine out of ten industries strengthened over the period, with mining, agriculture, forestry, fishing and trade delivering the biggest gains.
The latest numbers are in line with market expectations and follow a revised 0.9 percent increase in the second quarter.
Officials say the continued improvement shows steady recovery in overall economic output as the country moves further away from the disruptions seen in recent years.

Ultrarunners Take On 50km Taco Bell Challenge
Story 3
Hundreds of runners in Washington DC have taken part in a quirky new ultramarathon that mixes long-distance endurance with fast-food fun.
The first Taco Bell DC 50k required participants to cover 50 kilometres while stopping at nine Taco Bells to eat a menu item at each one.
Close to 1 000 people signed up, far more than organisers expected, turning the event into a lively mix of seasoned athletes and newcomers looking for a unique challenge.
Runners had 11 hours to complete the route, collecting receipts as proof along the way. Mike Smith claimed first place in just over four hours, but organisers say the spirit of the race was more about enjoyment, community and trying something completely different.
