Food parcels bring comfort to Tweedy Park residents
Residents at the Tweedy Park Old Age Home have received food parcels thanks to a donation from Tega Industries' local branch in Vulcania.
The initiative was led by the company's CEO, Vishal Gautam, as part of its commitment to supporting the community through acts of kindness.
The donation brought comfort to elderly residents and caregivers while strengthening the spirit of care and connection.

KZN athletes set to make history at obstacle racing world championships
Eight athletes from Iron Movement gym in Winston Park, west of Durban, have qualified to represent South Africa at the Obstacle Course Racing World Championships in Beijing, China, from 3 to 6 September.
Their selection means South Africa will, for the first time, send a national team to compete on the international obstacle course racing circuit.
The athletes have already begun training to prepare for the demanding competition.

Doctor aims to inspire 10 000 learners through free maths lessons
Johannesburg doctor Siyabonga Khoza is on a mission to reach more than 10 000 high school learners this year by offering free mathematics lessons and motivational talks at schools across South Africa.
When he is not treating patients, Dr Khoza volunteers his time to tutor learners in disadvantaged communities.
He has already visited 28 schools this year and hopes to reach 50 by the end of 2026, encouraging young people to believe in their potential and pursue careers in mathematics and medicine.

Gqeberha Artist Earns Global Recognition for Powerful African Artwork
Gqeberha artist Farook Mohammed is gaining international recognition after his Makoti Painting was nominated for the Global Arts Prize for Innovation from more than 10 000 entries worldwide.
The artwork celebrates the diversity and strength of African women while raising awareness about gender based violence. It also promotes unity and social cohesion through its message of ubuntu.
Farook has long used his art to tell African stories and encourage meaningful conversations about issues affecting the continent.
