KZN athletes set to make history at obstacle racing world championships

Eight athletes from Iron Movement gym in Winston Park, west of Durban, have qualified to represent South Africa at the Obstacle Course Racing World Championships in Beijing, China, from 3 to 6 September.
Their selection means South Africa will, for the first time, send a national team to compete on the international obstacle course racing circuit.
The athletes have already begun training to prepare for the demanding competition.

Doctor aims to inspire 10 000 learners through free maths lessons

Johannesburg doctor Siyabonga Khoza is on a mission to reach more than 10 000 high school learners this year by offering free mathematics lessons and motivational talks at schools across South Africa.
When he is not treating patients, Dr Khoza volunteers his time to tutor learners in disadvantaged communities.
He has already visited 28 schools this year and hopes to reach 50 by the end of 2026, encouraging young people to believe in their potential and pursue careers in mathematics and medicine.
