Main Street Sundays will celebrate Women's Day by turning part of Johannesburg's inner city into a car-free public space on 9 August.
Residents will be able to walk, cycle, skate and enjoy markets, live music and family activities along Main Street.
The event aims to promote community connection while supporting local businesses and artists.
This follows the successful launch that attracted more than 5,000 visitors in April.

More Girls Gain OWLAG Scholarship Support

More girls across South Africa will receive education support as the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls expands its scholarship programme.
The programme will provide scholarships for academically talented learners at schools across the country when the Academy’s residential campus closes in 2027.
Since opening in 2007, OWLAG has supported more than 1,000 graduates, many of whom have continued into higher education and professional careers.
The expanded programme aims to continue creating opportunities for young women from disadvantaged communities.

Tygerberg NICU Gets Ventilator Support

Two neonatal ventilators have been donated to Tygerberg Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Cape Town to support premature and critically ill newborns.
The equipment, donated by the Tygerberg Hospital Children’s Trust, provides breathing support for babies whose lungs are still developing.
The donation forms part of the Trust’s ongoing support for paediatric care at the hospital.

Johannesburg’s Hey Hillbrow! Let’s Dlala! parade returns with a public procession through the inner city.
The event, presented by The Windybrow Arts Centre and Shade, will bring together artists and community organisations for a celebration of movement, creativity and public spaces.
The parade will leave from The Windybrow Arts Centre and move through Hillbrow under the theme “Arise”, highlighting the right of communities to gather and be seen.
