Six South African scientists have been selected to attend the prestigious Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Germany. The 75th edition of the meeting will take place in Lindau from June 28 to July 3, 2026, bringing together 75 Nobel Laureates and around 636 young scientists from 88 countries. All participants were chosen through a rigorous multi-stage selection process. Focused on interdisciplinary research, the event creates a unique platform for early-career scientists to engage with some of the world’s leading minds and discuss cutting-edge discoveries.

St Teresa’s School in Rosebank was well represented at the SA National Junior Aquatics Championships, where Aimee van der Merwe qualified for four finals. She also achieved four personal bests across her events, including an impressive swim in the 50m butterfly. Continuing her success, Aimee went on to compete in the SA National Open Water Championships in Jeffreys Bay. As part of the Junior Central Gauteng team, she contributed to a bronze medal finish in the 1km relay, and placed 11th in the 3km individual event in her age category—achieving a remarkable personal best by three minutes.
