The programme covered everything from basic cutting to running a professional barbershop, alongside entrepreneurship lessons.
The graduates are now preparing to enter salons, with some also encouraged to consider starting their own businesses.

Durban FilmMart has launched its 2026 industry programme, bringing filmmakers and industry leaders together in Durban from 9 to 12 October.
The four day event will explore film financing, international co productions, artificial intelligence, animation and the growing popularity of vertical dramas.
The programme will also look at advocacy and strengthening professional networks, with international partnerships including a Canadian delegation and a forum celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Linden Library Teaches Children Road Safety Through Games

Linden Library hosted its Smart Kids, Smart Roads programme, giving children aged four to 13 a fun lesson in road safety during the school holidays.
The programme combined storytelling, road safety education and games based on traffic lights.
Children learned how to stay safe as pedestrians and cyclists, where to sit in a car and why they should not distract drivers.
The library says the lessons are designed to give children practical skills they can use in their communities.
