The Swiss town of Neuchatel has handed over three historic artefacts to South Africa more than a century after they were taken.
The items include 30 divining bones in a woven basket, a bull's foot bone used as an amulet, and a walking staff, originally belonging to the Nkuna chiefdom’s Shilubana royal family.
Their return comes ahead of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s state visit to Switzerland and reflects the strong ties between the two countries.
A South African delegation signed a deed of transfer at Neuchatel’s town hall, returning the artefacts to their family of origin and restoring their symbolic and religious significance.

Poppy O’Malley-Flack, a 10-year-old from Kent, was tested for dyslexia but emerged with an IQ of 136, placing her in the top one percent of Britons.
