Stormers bring smiles to young patients during hospital visit
Story 1
Reaiteka Pre-School in Maruping Village, Northern Cape, is set to move into a brand-new Early Childhood Development centre, thanks to a partnership between the Santa Shoebox Project Legacy, CECD, Breadline Africa and Kathu Solar Park.

The 64 learners previously studied in overcrowded and unsuitable conditions, including a corrugated iron structure that was too hot in summer and too cold in winter.

The new R900,000 facility will provide safe, age-appropriate classrooms, improved learning spaces, and teacher development support. Project partners say the upgrade is aimed at restoring dignity and improving early learning outcomes for children in rural communities.

Bromhof Knitwits spread warmth with blanket donation to Ferndale elderly residents
Story 3
A group of women from the Bromhof Knitwits has donated nearly 30 hand-crafted blankets to elderly residents at Avanteco Assisted Living in Ferndale.

The knitting and crocheting group, linked to the 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day initiative, says the visit was about more than keeping residents warm, especially for those who rarely receive family visits.

Avanteco manager Lorraine Norval says the blankets gave residents hope and reminded them they are loved and cared for.
The group regularly creates blankets, scarves and beanies for people in need and says bringing comfort and happiness to others is what motivates their charity work.
