Gauteng Health Department welcomes R100 Million cash injection

The Gauteng Department of Health has welcomed the injection of much needed financial resources, in order to tackle the ongoing challenges posed by aging machinery and equipment across hospitals.

The Gauteng Department of Health has been allocated R100 million by the National Department of Health for the 2025/26 financial year, to support its recapitalization programme which aims to refurbish and replace outdated critical equipment and machinery in hospitals.

The MEC for Health and Wellness Nomantu Nkomo-Rale Hoko says work has commenced with the refurbishment of theatres at the Carletonville and Bheki Mlangeni hospitals.
