More than 300 runners and walkers gathered at Ernest Ullmann Park this morning, lacing up their shoes for a 5 km run just days before the Easter holidays. The tournament featured 30 rugby teams and 36 netball teams competing in the U16 and open age groups, delivering two days of high-energy matches and spirited competition. Tournament director of rugby, Marceau Alberts, said the event was a success, highlighting both the competitive nature of the matches and the strong sense of community among the teams.

80-Year-Old Canadian Bakes Massive Carrot Cake
A cafe owner in British Columbia, Ted Martindale of Granville's Coffee, celebrated his 80th birthday by creating a colossal 17-by-17-foot carrot cake. He partnered with several local bakeries to assemble the cake, which used more than 1,760 pounds of carrots, 700 pounds of butter, thousands of eggs, and nearly 2,000 pounds of icing.Martindale said it took over a month to bake the 430 individual cakes that made up the final product.
