The Bryanston Primary School grounds came alive this past week for the school’s annual Soapbox Derby. With this year’s theme, A Splash of Colour, every grade embraced creativity, dressing in their assigned colours and adding playful accessories. The highlight was the fast-paced soapbox cart races made by the students. Beyond the races, the day carried a strong fundraising purpose. Classes worked hard to gather money donations, with medals awarded to those who completed the most laps and raised the highest funds.

Speakers at the WPN Thought Leadership Conference 2026 called on women to step into leadership roles without waiting for permission. This highlights the persistent gap between women’s qualifications and their representation at executive level. The conference was hosted by Redefine Properties in partnership with the Women’s Property Network in Sandton. Speakers noted that while women are increasingly visible in the workforce, they remain underrepresented in executive roles, underscoring the need for bold action and systemic change within the property sector.

Seven time Grammy winner Jacob Collier left audiences spellbound during his masterclass at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2026. Hailed as “the Mozart of our generation” he performed at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Friday. Kicking off with his trademark audience participation, Collier had the crowd harmonising, whistling, clicking and even mimicking birds within minutes, creating an electric, immersive experience.
