The organisation aims to restore five million hectares of land and sea, improve the lives of five million people and help direct R50 billion towards nature-positive projects by 2030.

Grade 6 learners across South Africa can now apply for the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation High School Scholarship Programme.
Applications close on 15 September 2026 and are open to learners who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership potential and financial need.
Successful applicants will receive funding for high school education, mentorship and entrepreneurship training.
The programme aims to prepare young South Africans to start businesses and become future leaders.

South Africa has become the first country in Africa to acquire a liver perfusion machine that could improve liver transplant success.
The technology keeps donor livers functioning outside the body, giving doctors more time to assess and preserve organs before surgery.
This could allow more donated livers to be used for transplants and improve outcomes for patients waiting for a lifesaving operation.
Lead Transplant Surgeon, Dr Sharan Rambarran says this development is expected to strengthen organ transplantation in South Africa and across the region:
