Community organisation OneTime, based in Sebokeng in Gauteng’s Sedibeng region, continues to support vulnerable families through a range of outreach programmes focused on education, dignity and social care.
The volunteer driven group has recently donated furniture to a fire affected family, provided blankets to an old age home, and distributed school shoes and bags to learners in need.
It also hosted a community event in Sebokeng where meals were shared with children and vulnerable residents as part of its ongoing social support efforts.

SPCA Dog Box Challenge Raises Over R364,000 for Animal Welfare

Animal lovers braved a cold night in dog kennels as part of the Kloof and Highway SPCA Dog Box Challenge 2026, held on 5 June in Kloof.
Participants spent 24 hours in kennels while raising at least R10,000 each in “bail” money to secure their release, all in support of the SPCA’s work.
The initiative raised more than R364,000, which will go towards veterinary care, food and the upkeep of rescued animals.
Organisers say the event also helps build empathy by giving participants a glimpse of the conditions shelter animals face.

Vaal creative lab empowers young artists in Sharpeville

Young creatives in Sharpeville in Gauteng have been given a platform to develop their skills through the Vaal Creative Innovation Lab, hosted at the Sharpeville Human Rights Precinct as part of Youth Month activities.
Aspiring artists, musicians, animators, photographers and digital creators took part in workshops and interactive sessions focused on animation, beat making, photography and content creation.
Industry practitioners and partners from the creative sector shared skills and guidance aimed at helping participants explore opportunities in the creative economy.
Organisers say the initiative is designed to support youth development and encourage young people to turn their creative talents into sustainable careers.
