Centurion Blood Drive Collects 250 Donations

Two hundred and fifty people donated blood at the Christmas in July Naughty and Nice Blood Drive at Living Word Centurion this weekend, helping to strengthen blood supplies for medical emergencies.
The event also collected non-perishable food for the LIving Word Food Bank, supporting families in need.
More than 40 organisations joined the initiative, which included emergency service demonstrations and community activities.
The drive highlighted how public participation can support healthcare services and local communities.

A Grade 12 learner from Redhill School has represented South Africa at the 37th International Biology Olympiad in Lithuania.
Ella Fanucchi was one of four South African learners selected to compete against top young biologists from around the world at the prestigious competition.
She prepared for the Olympiad while also completing her international school exams, managing both challenges at the same time.

Learners Join Winter Blood Donation Drive

Western Cape schools have been hosting blood donation drives since Monday to strengthen winter blood stocks and attract more young donors.

More than a dozen schools across the province are taking part in the initiative.

The trailer for Children of Blood and Bone, starring South African actress Thuso Mbedu, has been released ahead of the film's cinema debut on 15 January 2027.
The fantasy film follows a young woman on a mission to restore magic stolen from her people while challenging a powerful ruler.
Paramount Pictures also shared a behind-the-scenes video on YouTube before the trailer launch.
Based on Tomi Adeyemi's novel, the film was shot in South Africa and features an international cast including Cynthia Erivo, Regina King, Idris Elba, and Viola Davis.
