Sandton City has partnered with the Riky Rick Foundation to launch Words That Heal.
The campaign aims to open up conversations around mental health and encourage South Africans to share messages of hope and healing.
To participate, members of the public can submit a voice note via WhatsApp 063 980 5816 to help uplift someone who needs it.
Messages received before 8 August 2025 will be considered for inclusion in a curated song of hope.

City of Johannesburg Recognizes Garden Waste Chipping Operations Trainees

Thirty trainees from Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo and Pikitup have been recognized by the City of Johannesburg's Environment and Infrastructure Services Department for completing the Garden Waste Chipping Operations project.
The initiative trains staff to safely operate chipping machinery and promotes organic waste diversion as part of the City's Climate Action Plan.
The project aims to divert 50% of green waste by 2029 and 70% by 2035, contributing to the City's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
Waste Management and Regulation Unit Director, Makhosazana Mtshali says the project promotes environmental sustainability and contributes to a greener Johannesburg.
