Kruger Park pilot boosts recycling and cuts waste
Story 2
Kruger National Park has launched a recycling pilot to reduce waste and support conservation.
The first animal proof three bin system at Tshokwane picnic site near Skukuza recovered over 500 kilograms of recyclable packaging during the festive season.
The colour coded bins make it easy for visitors to separate recyclables, non recyclable waste and compostable material at source.
SANParks says picnic sites are key for waste management since most day visitors stop at least once during their trip.
The project will now expand to two more picnic sites in the park.
