The Festival of motoring is underway at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand.
The Festival is South Africa’s largest industry supported motoring event, with more than 25 automotive brands, over 100 exhibitors and an expected 32 000 visitors.

Hospitality options include family-friendly viewing areas, premium packages reserved for guests aged 16 and older and additional paid driving experiences.
Visitors will be able to test the latest models under supervision on the main circuit, as well as on a dedicated self-handling track featuring more than 40 vehicles.

The George Festival is set to return in December with an expanded programme and opportunities to showcase the municipality’s talent, culture, art and sport.

The municipality’s spokesperson, Ntobeko Mangqwengqwe, says the festival seeks to create a space where people of all ages can connect through sport and entertainment.
The festival will take place from the 9th to the 13th of December.

Higher Education, Science and Innovation Minister Blade Nzimande says the South African Women in Science Awards play an important role in inspiring women and encouraging young girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The Minister says the awards form part of a broader transformation programme, supported through scholarships, postgraduate funding and assistance for emerging researchers.
Nzimande says women have enormous potential.
