The Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve and Association is teaming up with Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo to celebrate Arbor Day on 13 September under the theme Greening our Community.
The event will welcome 60 learners from Molalatladi and Sekwati Primary Schools for tree planting, education and awareness activities. The community is also invited to take part and promote the importance of conservation.
Exhibitions will be hosted by organisations including Rand Water, SANParks Junior Rangers, KaiNav Conservation Foundation, Thaba Eco Hotel and others.
The celebration highlights the role of trees in protecting biodiversity, conserving water and building a greener Johannesburg.

TikTok has introduced its TikTok for Artists platform in South Africa, giving musicians, their teams and record labels access to tools and data to track how their music performs on the app.
The service provides daily updates, audience insights and post engagement analytics through a dashboard, along with guides to help artists grow their careers.
One of its main features is a Pre-Release tool that allows campaigns for new music and fan pre-saves on streaming platforms.
The platform has already been launched in Nigeria and is now available to certified TikTok Artist Accounts in South Africa. The company says the move will help local artists expand their reach and strengthen their presence on the global music stage.

Young people in Alexandra are taking their job hunt directly to companies through a door-to-door campaign led by the SA Job Seekers Movement.
The initiative sees job seekers delivering CVs in person, with the aim of securing immediate employment while also building long-term relationships with employers.
Earlier this month, more than 350 job seekers joined the campaign at Longmeadow Business Estate, where dozens of CVs were collected for security posts and interviews are already under way.
The movement also hosts monthly work readiness workshops at Motswedi Skills Centre, helping young people prepare for opportunities.
