The Funda Nenja dog school is recognising children from Mpophomeni in KwaZulu Natal for their consistent participation and dedication to weekly sessions with their dogs.
Learners who maintained high attendance have received certificates and small rewards for their effort and commitment.
The programme focuses on teaching responsibility, empathy and confidence through the bond between children and their pets, while also supporting animal welfare through basic veterinary services in the community.
Organisers say the children’s consistency reflects meaningful personal growth and stronger life skills.

Sandton Fun Factory has received international recognition after its early childhood financial literacy programme was awarded an Excellence in Financial Literacy Education Award in the United States.
The initiative teaches children aged three to six basic money concepts such as saving, spending and banking through trained educators.
The programme has already expanded to around 600 early childhood centres across South Africa, supported by partnerships including Discovery Bank.
It is now being extended to teacher training colleges and neighbouring countries as part of its long term growth.
