Learners Make Life Orientation More Accessible
Story 2
Two Deaf learners at St Vincent School for the Deaf in Johannesburg are developing a South African Sign Language dictionary to help classmates understand Life Orientation terms.
They identified the problem through their own experiences and are using coding skills from the school’s Coding for Inclusion club to build the solution.
The club, launched in 2024, gives about 60 learners access to coding, robotics and technology projects.
The dictionary is still being developed, but the learners are already using technology to make learning more accessible for their peers.
