The South African Guide Dogs Association for the Blind recently visited Fourways High School and Bryanston High School in Johannesburg, giving learners the chance to interact with assistance dogs and learn more about the role they play in supporting people living with disabilities.
The visits focused on creating greater awareness around inclusion, empathy and accessibility, while showing learners how specially trained dogs help improve independence and daily life for many people.
School officials say the interaction helped make the learning experience more meaningful and relatable for learners.
