Fête de la Musique returns Johannesburg

The Fête de la Musique festival will return to Victoria Yards in Johannesburg in June 2026, bringing together South African and international artists for a series of live performances.
The free festival will feature established acts such as Zoë Modiga, The Brother Moves On and lordkez, alongside emerging artists selected from hundreds of applications.
The event will also include collaborations with international music industry representatives from several countries and public participation sessions through RedCircle by TEDxJohannesburg.
Organisers say the festival continues to provide a platform for live music and cultural exchange in the city.

Over 100 blankets support Pretoria communities

Over 100 blankets collected during a community drive at the Voortrekker Monument are being distributed to old age homes, care centres and vulnerable communities across Pretoria as winter sets in.
The initiative was led by Solidarity’s community development organisation, the Jacaranda Beetle Club and MachKnitz volunteers who knitted and crocheted the blankets.
A convoy of 32 Beetle cars transported the blankets, which were first displayed at the Voortrekker Monument before distribution.
