St Stithians Chapel Turns Electric with Surprise Visit from J’Something
Story 1
St Stithians Boys’ College received a surprise visit on Friday morning when J’Something, the lead singer of MiCasa, appeared during the school’s chapel service.
The morning began with the school’s vocal group, the Dukes, performing the opening verse and chorus of Mamela.
As they sang, J’Something joined them on stage — drawing loud applause from learners and staff.
Known for his music and uplifting messages, he spoke to the boys about the importance of valuing time over money, and encouraged them to focus on what truly matters, while sharing his own journey from a schoolboy to a successful artist.
He also performed the first song he ever recorded, and closed the visit with a live version of MiCasa’s hit Jika, which saw the entire chapel on its feet — clapping, dancing, and singing along.

Ukrainian Chef Preserves Heritage Through Food in a Time of War
Story 2
Ukrainian chef and activist Yevhen Klopotenko is proving that food can be a form of resistance.
Stuck in Kyiv due to martial law, he’s still cooking – and connecting with the world – via virtual classes, like a recent one where he taught a U.S. writer how to make traditional dumplings.
Best known for getting UNESCO to recognise Ukrainian borshch as part of the country’s cultural heritage, Klopotenko is determined to preserve and celebrate authentic Ukrainian cuisine.
His new cookbook, The Authentic Ukrainian Kitchen, is helping reintroduce a national identity through recipes that honour the past while looking to the future.
For a nation fighting for its place in the world, Klopotenko’s message is simple – Ukraine exists, and it’s worth tasting.
