Gauteng MEC Leads Food Security Push in Orange Farm

In honour of World Hunger Day, Gauteng MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, led a major community upliftment initiative today, in Orange Farm
This initiative is aimed at fighting food insecurity and empowering local farmers.
Under the theme “Sowing Seeds of Resilience,” the MEC handed over agricultural starter packs, including tools and seedlings, to more than 100 community farmers.
50 vulnerable households received essential food parcels and training in food production.
The programme also sowed the seeds for sustainable, community-driven solutions to hunger and poverty in areas such as Orange Farm.

Deputy Minister Backs Jobs for People with Disabilities

Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, Judith Tshabalala, visited the Supported Employment Enterprises factories in Selby and Springfield today as part of her oversight duties.
SEE, which employs people with disabilities, produces items such as office furniture, school desks, linen, and protective clothing.
The visit highlighted SEE’s role in creating inclusive job opportunities.
Earlier this week, the Deputy Minister also visited the Pretoria site alongside Health and Small Business Ministers.
Recently, SEE donated 70 desks and chairs to Prudens Secondary School in Tladi, Soweto, as part of its social investment efforts.
