The advanced R2.7 million technology keeps donor livers functioning outside the body.This could improve the quality of donor organs and increase the number of successful liver transplants. Transplant surgeon Dr Sharan Rambarran said the machine may also reduce complications linked to traditional ice storage, helping patients recover more quickly after surgery.
