The countdown has begun for the Basadi in Music Awards, which will be hosted at the Joburg Theatre in Johannesburg in the month of August.

The awards honour women who are shaping the entertainment landscape through creativity, resilience and influence.

The Awards has long stood as a beacon for recognising female talent, and this year takes a significant leap forward with an expanded range of categories.

Women from various sectors of the entertainment industry will receive awards across new categories like Manager of the Year, Makeup Artist of the Year, Podcast Presenter of the Year and Choreographer of the Year, in addition to traditional honours.

Over 570 youths gathered at the 4 Artillery Regiment facilities in Potchefstroom in the North West, for the National Youth Service Corps pass-out parade.

The parade, marks the youth's successful acquisition of critical skills, including Agriculture, Construction & Engineering among others.

South African youth activist, and writer Michael Mayalo has marked a major milestone in his journey of storytelling with the official launch of his debut book, China Through My Eyes, at the China–South Africa Youth Night in Pretoria.

The book, which has been three years in the making, reflects Michael’s personal journey and cultural awakening during his short-term studies in China.

The book explores themes of global identity, youth empowerment, and intercultural understanding.
